"How do I arrange a break from caring?"
Everyone needs a break occasionally - and carers are no different. When you care for someone it can be physically and emotionally exhausting at times and it is important that you make time for yourself. If you don't have a break regularly then you are more likely to become ill yourself.
Carers Breaks Brochure
One of the common difficulties carers experience is how to arrange a short break - the annually updated Carers Breaks Brochure is available free of charge to carers. It contains information on a range of topics, including:
- local befriending services
- short breaks and longer breaks
- specialist holiday organisations
- wheelchair hire
- transport and mobility
- possible sources of help with funding
