"How do I get help in an emergency?"

Getting help in an emergency is difficult if you are not sure who to contact. Yet having the right information to hand before any emergency arises gives you peace of mind that should something happen you will know who to contact for assistance.

If you need assistance during working hour and think that Social Services may be able to help then contact their daytime numbers as follows:

  • If you care for someone under the age of 65 please contact 01204 337970, 330971, 330972
  • If you care for someone over the age of 65 please contact 01204 338027

If you need assistance and it is out of normal working hours then contact the following emergency number 01204 337777. An emergency is something that has developed suddenly and unexpectedly, needs to be dealt with urgently and cannot safely be left until the following working day. A trained operator will take your call, and if appropriate it will be passed on to the Emergency Social Worker. Priority will be given to the most serious situations.

Call 999 if you or someone in your family needs emergency hospital treatment.
